TAG Yard Sale
Spring clean your house and support Teen Programming at the Library! We need your donations.
The Teen Advisory Group will be holding a yard sale to support the teen summer reading program and other activities. Donations of items (slightly used or good condition) would be appreciated. Items will be accepted at the library’s children’s room until 6 pm, Friday, April 3rd, 2009.
The date of the yard sale will be April 4th, from 8 am to 1 pm. In case of rain, the sale will be moved indoors and the start time delayed until 9 am. All unsold books and magazines will be donated to the Friends of the Library book sale, and any other unsold merchandise will be delivered to Goodwill.
Please bring your unused or unwanted items to the library - the program cannot thrive without your support!

TAG Meeting Minutes for February
We had three members at our most recent TAG meeting. The first item on our agenda was to plan an event for March. We decided to change the date of our teen coffeehouse in order to hold a St. Patrick's themed party. Eat potato soup and join in the search for the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Also, don't forget to wear green! The day of our party will be Saturday March 14th, at the usual coffeehouse time of 6 pm - 8 pm.
We also discussed summer reading program events. A couple of popular events will be recurring, such as our jewelry workshops. We've also had some suggestions to have language classes and brain teasers in the form of a game show, such as Are you Smarter Than A Fifth Grader?
We are looking for suggestions of movies to show during the summer. A couple on the agenda are Transformers and Bedtime Stories. Feel free to offer more ideas in the comments!

Limerick Contest
Limericks are a form of humorous verse. They take their name from the city of Limerick, Ireland. No one knows how or where the form originated.
The limerick is a poem of five lines. The first two lines rhyme with the fifth. The third line rhymes with the fourth. There is a definite pattern to the stress given each word:
There was an old man with a beard
Who said, "It is just as I feared!"
Two owls and a hen,
Four larks and a wren,
Have all built their nests in my beard!"
The children's room will be having a limerick contest, open to everyone from elementary school to high school! If you are interested, fill out an entry form at the library. The entry form requires your name, school, grade, phone number, age, and of course, your limerick.
See what you can do! Make sure that you follow the limerick verse form outline above.
The contest deadline is March 13, 2009.
